Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

The devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy is overwhelming and provides a real life example of how important community response is in reestablishing services to meet basic human needs.

There are a number of articles chronicling stories of personal and community response. Feel free to add ones you find that illuminate the importance of working together and the lessons learned about how to make a community based response more effective.

Interested in participating in a VV garden? We have 9 collaborative gardens and garden spaces in 5 neighbourhoods (Grandview Woodland, Kits, Strathcona, W. Point Grey, and the West End). New gardeners are welcome. 

For more information, contact us at gardening@villagevancouver.org. Gardening now in progress. New gardeners welcome (space allowing). Sign-up on the VRAC website for gardening at the Kitsilano Community Garden and at the Aberthau Community Garden.
