Question:  Can I feed morning glory leaves to my chickens?

My garden sure grows a lot of it, and I really like feeding them (fresh) waste food scraps, and I'd probably pull more morning glory out if I had something fun to do with it.  I've been chopping all food scraps finely with my Slap Chop (TM) and that seems to work great.  Turning morning glory into eggs - now that would be a win-win.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Hi James,
I've heard people warn against morning glory for chickens. Also...the seeds are said to have hallucinogenic effects on humans. But this is all conjecture. Probably best to play it safe.
Unfortunately Morning Glory is poisonous to chickens. Like most animals, they're pretty smart about not eating things that will kill them though. My 'chicken meadow' is full of the stuff and they just ignore it. I was thinking the same thing the other day after pulling a whole pile of it. Too bad there isn't something useful you can do with it. I put it in the city yard waste bin... not my compost. If anyone has any better ideas for the stuff, I'm all ears.
