Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Just finished getting a heat and light system going, and now, all our chickens need are some more friends to cuddle with. Does anyone know a place to get hens, in Vancouver?

The City of Vancouver Pound has a couple of young hens (mixed breed, medium size) that are in need of a home.  If you can help these girls out, please contact susy.jakoncic (susy.jakoncic@shaw.ca) or drop by their facility which is

located in Vancouver's eastside at:

1280 Raymur Avenue
(directly across from Strathcona Park)
Vancouver, BC V6A 3L8

Telephone: 3-1-1 or outside Vancouver call 604.873.7000
Fax: 604.871.6862
E-mail: animalcontrol@vancouver.ca

Here is a map to help you find your way Globe... but if you still need assistance, please don't hesitate to call us.
