VV runs on people power, so the more that members get involved, the more we can do to help facilitate a transition to sustainable community. We encourage members to get engaged on the basis of their interests, and there are lots of ways to plug in - in villages, discussions, working groups, by starting or collaborating on projects, and practically any other way you can think of - whatever tickles your fancy, and to whatever extent you wish. (Perhaps there's already something that you're doing which you can bring into VV.)
