Collaboration We collaborate w/many local community groups, inc. Kits VPL, Kits Community Centre, Kits Neighbourhood House, SPEC, Billy Bishop Legion Hall, KCC Collaborative Garden, LocoMotoArt, Westside Food Collaborative, and Vancouver Arts Colloquium Society, as well as MLA David Eby's Office, Vancouver Park Board, and the City of Vancouver.
Permaculture Corridor We contribute to the Aberthau Community, the McBride Vertical, the Green Streets, the Kitsilano Community, and the 10th Avenue Gardens (and are looking for new projects).
Workshops We hold workshops at our gardens, Kits Library, two Community Centres, and elsewhere.
Green Streets Garden We maintain a GS Garden. We're looking for a couple more gardeners.
Aberthau Community EcoArt and Permaculture Garden We maintain the Aberthau Garden, which was recently expanded. As one of our collaborative gardens, sign-up to contribute on the Van Rec website, found here for Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
McBride Park Vertical Garden We maintain the vertical garden found in McBride Park, which has been expanded in recent years.
Kitsilano Community Centre Collaborative Garden We maintain this collaborative garden near the Kits CC. Sign-up to contribute on the Van Rec website, found here for Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
10th Avenue Community Garden We contribute to the maintenance of the 10th Ave and Tolmie temporary Garden.
Westside Food Festival The 1st festival took place July 18-31, 2017, featuring 40 activities (all free) @a dozen locations, inc. several workshops/ events in Kits. The next festival takes place in May-July 2027 (our 11th!).
Plastics Recycling Depot Monthly depots on the Thursday before the 3rd Friday of the month at Kits CC. Free year-round. New volunteers welcome.
Neighbourhood Small Grants Need info on how to apply? We can help!
Monthly Dinner Groups We've had a couple groups in the past. If there's interest, let's start a new one.
Seed Library/Seed Savers Club We maintain 4 seed libraries - one at Kits Library, one at MLA David Eby's office, one for KV Collaborative Garden, and a roving one for street fairs, etc. Free seeds, seed swapping, donations, and occasional seed packet parties and Seed Saver Clubs
Westside Food Collaborative We're a longtime member of WFC.

Interested in participating in a VV garden? We have 9 collaborative gardens and garden spaces in 5 neighbourhoods (Grandview Woodland, Kits, Strathcona, W. Point Grey, and the West End). New gardeners are welcome.
