Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities
Summer is coming to an end (even though it doesn't feel like it) and we're taking a look back at what we've been up to the past few months at The World In A Garden. We've kept ourselves busy (and we still are) with farmers markets, workshops, volunteer events and of course, lots of weeding! Here are some highlights from the summer:
Native Garden Blessing Ceremony: First Nations Minister Eugene Harry leads a blessing ceremony at TWIAG for our new native edible plants garden on the boulevard.
Companion Planting Workshop: Brian Campbell leads the first workshop of our Seed to Table Workshop Series at the garden on a beautiful, sunny day.
Harvest at the garden: Our fabulous, hard-working volunteer, Carole, harvests for the Westside Pocket Market- beautiful zuchinni flowers :))
Greens BBQ: Alicia & Tricia hand out kale chips at the Greens BBQ. Eat More Kale!!
New bike trailer: Tricia & Alicia load up the new bike trailer for the pocket market, donated by the Vancouver Bike Co-op in August.
Thanks for reading/looking :)

Great blog posting idea! There's already a chill in the air, but summer's not totally over yet--or at least so my late-blooming, late-maturing tomatoes hope.
Vancouver's largest water fight, rained out in July, was rescheduled for August and held, as usual, in Stanley Park at Lumberman's Arch. It is a flash mob event with no organizers (other than a Facebook Page) and over a thousand participants. It's a riot...um...a of a good sort.
There are an amazing collection of photos heres, and YouTube videos here and here.
