Langley contact with heritage point-of-lay birds in the fall

Hey all,

If any of you are looking to add to your flocks, or are interested in rare heritage breeds, I've made contact with a woman in Langley who is raising chicks and will be selling point-of-lay heritage hens in the fall.  She writes:

Here is the list of breeds we will be raising (like you I am into dual purpose rare heritage breeds):

·        Black Cooper Marans – chocolate brown eggs (just ordered enough for myself so if you want these let me know so that I add to my order)

·        Coronation Sussex (very very rare – according to the breeder we will be the first in BC other than her to have these)

·        Australorps (amazing layers)

·        Silver laced Wyandottes

·        Araucanas (true breed not Easter Eggers – lay blue eggs)

·        Ameraucanas (true breed not Easter Eggers – lay blue eggs)

·        Barnevelders

·        Blue Laced Red Wyandottes

·        Blue Orpington (also rare and hard to get)

Her info:

Tiffeny Papuc and Darren Streifel

Phone: 604-812-5273

Email: tiffeny@shaw.ca

I'll probably get in touch in the fall & see what she has available (her eggs are arriving soon).  Just thought I'd pass along her info as another source for interesting birds.

Cheers,

-Kristi
