Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities
-homework from last week-try to do quickly if not done yet-don’t spend too much time on each question because there are lots of them/some overlap
-suggestion that creating a map of where we live may be useful in organizing ourselves over time
-suggestion to use Village Vancouver forum so that people can add comments and others can see what is happening with the group
Pods (interest indicated by numbers/each person could vote as many times as they liked)
1. repurposing-2
2. food-8
3. clothing-1
4. energy-9
5. shelter-4
6. remediation-6
7. education-9
8. exchange/economics-9
9. fabrication-4
10. design-6
-rather than dividing into pods based on interests, we divided up randomly into 3 groups to get to know each other better by working on the gifts and passions areas of Venn diagram p32 in Dave Pollard’s book “Finding the Sweet Spot”
-Cabot put up on white board an idea from Dave P. about finding the sweet spot
1. diverge-lose focus
2. groan-convert from expansion to focus
3. converge-not too quickly
-for next week: finding our purpose (that is within our power)
-will also look at needs in the community
-request not to prune ideas too soon
-request for action=split into pods
