Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Hello, I am interested in keeping bees, however, I am wondering if anyone can give me some more info on the bylaws for hobby beekeepers in the Lower Mainland. Is it necessary for everyone keeping bees to register with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land? Are there regulations on selling the honey my bees would produce? I have not been able to find any information on this. I am located in Langley. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi,

Attached is the bylaw in Vancouver-although you will have to see what the Langley bylaws are for beekeeping.

And here is the link for where you register your hives

I'm still looking into selling regulations so if you get any info I wold love to know about it.

I suggest you go to one of the Langley beekeepers meetings. They happen every first tuesday of the month. I'm sure you will find someone to answer all your questions.  Here is a link to their website http://www.langleybeeclub.org
