Bee Keeping Workshops this weekend

Brian Campbell is doing 2 workshops at Vandussen Gardens tomorrow:

 

Mason Bee Workshop
Discover what mason bees are, how to attract
them and keep them in your home garden.
Learn why and how to wash the cocoons,
what kind of nest they prefer and how to
make one. The focus will be on hands-on
demonstrations and useful information that
can be applied immediately in your backyard.

The A “Bee” C’s of Beekeeping NEW!
Join local bee expert Brian Campbell for an
introduction to beekeeping. Learn what is
required to keep bees in the city, and what
equipment and tools are essential. Discover
where to buy / find honeybees and how to
get started.

We'll be offering them again in May as part of the Dunbar Salmonberry days.

Interested in participating in a VV garden? We have 9 collaborative gardens and garden spaces in 5 neighbourhoods (Grandview Woodland, Kits, Strathcona, W. Point Grey, and the West End). New gardeners are welcome. 

For more information, contact us at gardening@villagevancouver.org. Gardening now in progress. New gardeners welcome (space allowing). Sign-up on the VRAC website for gardening at the Kitsilano Community Garden and at the Aberthau Community Garden.
