*VV and Kits Transition Village present: We Can Do The Can Canning - FREE Canning Workshop

The last workshop in our free hands-on canning workshop series. Tonight we'll be canning tomatoes. Supplies and tomatoes provided. We'll discuss basics, learn recipes, and other methods for preserving locally grown fruits & vegetables.

WORKSHOP IS NEARLY FULL. We have room for 2 more people.

Workshop presenters:

Marnie Newell works with the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation(SPEC) and is a passionate food preserver with dozens of cans under her belt. She has been trained by food preservers from such diverse backgrounds as Backwoods to Big City Chef.

Caitlin Dorward is past president of Sprouts at UBC, a SPEC Director, Agricultural  Researcher and avid foodie and canner. She is food safe certified and has been teaching canning workshops for the past three years.
