Event Description
Join Urban Cloth artists Mirae Rosner and Sharon Kallis with guest musician Dan Gaucher as we explore how to make music from the motions of processing flax into linen. Learn all about rippling, scutching and hackling as the steps involved from plant to spinnable fibre and discover how each step has its own unique rhythm and sound. Be a player in our flax processing band! Learn about the various plants being used for the local fibre project, Terroir: Urban Cloth and have fun practicing the beat of the ripple and break! Thanks to Community Arts Council and Heart of the City Festival for event support.
