Bonsai; from bon - a tray and sai - a planting or plantings. Now a North American trend, mini landscape scenes have been grown by the Japanese for over a thousand years, used for contemplation (for the viewer) and a pleasant exercise in skill and creativity (for the grower). Takaaki Yamaura, from Japan Bonsai in Surrey has been growing bonsai for over 4 decades will be discussing his art and shares some of his his tricks to grow your own specimen tree. We'll have a few on hand for purchase as well.
