Come join Reel Causes and the Wilderness Committee for the Canadian premiere of Uranium Drive-In -- a multiple award-winning film that takes a look at the many ways resource extraction and mining can affect local communities. It’s a subject that has been on a lot of our minds lately, particularly since the Mount Polley mine disaster has magnified the risks that massive industrial projects like mines pose to local water sources, wildlife and residents. I caught this film a few months ago - it's beautifully shot, thought-provoking, and an exceptional and timely story.
I hope you'll join us! In addition to the film, there'll be:
• the Sidewalk Cellist performing on-stage before the film
• a special presentation of Reel Causes' "Make Reel Change" video contest winning entry
• Joe Foy, Wilderness Committee National Director, and Suzan Beraza, Uranium Drive-In's director joining in for an interactive discussion after the film.
The event starts at 7 pm sharp, doors open at 6:30. , You can buy your tickets ($10/$15) on-line through Reel Causes' website (www.reelcauses.org) or at the door (cash only.) If you buy at the door, please give yourself additional time.
