Event Description

Ben Kalina spent three years making his film about accelerating sea level rise, but could never have anticipated the final chapter. In a feature article in the New York Times, the filmmaker talked about the event that capped off his film. “There’s only so much you can do to get people to visualize what rising sea levels means,” he says. “Then Sandy hit.” As global warming and more extreme weather events become the new reality, coastal cities will have to adapt to an increasingly volatile paradigm.
