Event Description

Take a deeper look into the concepts of permaculture, and learn how to design and create a diverse garden that yields food and provides habitat. This course will explore the layers of a food forest (including trees, shrubs and perennials), and will cover urban-appropriate species, natural plant communities and plant guilds. Includes a guided garden tour of plant species appropriate for an urban food forest, and what they can offer for food and habitat.

Interested in participating in a VV garden? We have 9 collaborative gardens and garden spaces in 5 neighbourhoods (Grandview Woodland, Kits, Strathcona, W. Point Grey, and the West End). New gardeners are welcome. 

For more information, contact us at gardening@villagevancouver.org. Gardening now in progress. New gardeners welcome (space allowing). Sign-up on the VRAC website for gardening at the Kitsilano Community Garden and at the Aberthau Community Garden.
