Learn all about keeping mason bees with one of the Lower Mainland's most knowledgeable instructors! Brian Campbell of Blessed Bee Farm (and resident pollination expert at West Coast Seeds) will bring in REAL LIVE mason bee cocoons which you will learn to handle and prepare for the coming season. This two hour program will teach you everything you need to successfully keep mason bees at home, including:
What are mason bees and how are they different from honeybees?
What to plant in your garden to make your bees happy (and how your bees will make your garden happy!)
How to select or build a great mason bee house
Identifying and separating parasites and healthy bee cocoons
Cleaning your mason bee house to remove parasites
How mason bees behave and where to look to see them in action!
