Join Foodwisdom at the UBC Farm to learn how to make your own nutritious health drinks. The workshop will start with Kombucha, an ancient fermented beverage that has reputed health benefits. The ancient Chinese, who have been making kombucha for centuries, called it the elixir of immortality. Russian scientists looking for a cure for cancer found that kombucha acts as a powerful bouncer of environmental and biological toxins. It also produces Vitamin B, something we are experiencing a global deficiency in. But let us not stop at kombucha. Join Foodwisdom’s Fizz-i-cian© for a night of heady tonic brews; beet kvaas & barley water. Pick your magic potion. Bring a glass jar with a lid (a quart wide mouth mason jar is ideal) to take home a Mother of all Mushrooms.
