Forest School Skills Training

Are you involved in outdoor education? Perhaps you’re working at a forest school, wilderness or nature education program. Perhaps you’re a keen community member or parent who’d like to learn how to get wild outdoor skills. This exciting, hands-on weekend of skill development is brought to you by the staff of Fresh Air Learning and Soaring Eagle Nature School.

What you’ll learn:

• 
  Making cordage (rope and string) by hand
  Tying knots and other rope skills
  Building shelters
  Knife skills and basic carving
  Making fire with sticks (friction fire)
  Creating nature art
  Tracking with children
  Engaging your forest senses with active and quiet activities
