In this day-long introduction you will learn all about solar, the whats, the whens, the wheres, the whys; and most importantly you will learn that the WHO of solar power is none other than yourself. This beginner's course takes you step by step through the basic anatomy of solar power, economic trends of energy and photovoltaics, site assessment, off-grid VS grid tied, where to source equipment and more.
About the Instructor:
Tomoe Yoshihara studies Mechatronic Engineering at Simon Fraser University and has a degree in Communication Studies specializing in documentary filmmaking. He enjoys developing sustainable technologies. His work includes electric bicycles, bamboo space frame construction, pedal-powered blenders, energy efficiency, solar power and more. Yoshihara has installed various off-grid solar power systems and consulted for the construction industry. Recently he developed a method for remote solar site assessment.
