Every month a flash mob of sorts takes to the streets of Vancouver to bicycle through the downtown and surrounding neighbourhoods in a festive, safe manner. Drawing from the adage that there is safety in numbers, Critical Mass is several hundred--and often more than a thousand--bicyclists riding together along the streets of Vancouver. The Vancouver police join in with the ride to improve the safety of the group. Critical Mass takes place every last Friday of the month, starting at the Vancouver Art Gallery east lawn at 6:00 PM.
