DESCRIPTION:Dear Village Vancouver Community Member,\nVillage Vancouve
 r Transition Society is looking to add energetic and enthusiastic new 
 members, including a new Treasurer, to our active, dedicated, and coll
 aborative team of Directors.\nThe VV Board is comprised of several vol
 unteers and Village membership is diverse. Board members provide guida
 nce for the society, and are expected to actively contribute a minimum
  of 10 hrs./month (including monthly board meetings), cooperating with
  our Executive Director to help build organizational capacity to bette
 r carry out our program priorities, increase member engagement (e.g. m
 ore member projects and other initiatives, and an increased number of 
 volunteers), and ensure financial accountability, adequate funding, an
 d effective stewardship of the society's resources. Participation in o
 ne or more of our working groups is encouraged.\nOur 2014-16 program p
 riorities include 1) strengthening the capacity of local villages and 
 constituencies, 2) identifying, developing, and nurturing projects and
  other initiatives that demonstrate the principles of sustainability, 
 community resilience, and regeneration, and 3) developing related lear
 ning opportunities - for example, skills based workshops.\nIf you work
  well with others, are passionate about the vision and goals of Villag
 e Vancouver and the worldwide permaculture inspired Transition Town mo
 vement (www.transitionnetwork.org), and share a commitment to building
  community resilience through positive, just, and effective responses,

 embership development and engagement, editing and newsletter productio
 n, website management and technical support, as well as any past or cu
 rrent service as a board or committee member, or as a volunteer or sta
 ff person in other groups, organizations, or businesses.\nPlease feel

 ve achieved, why you feel you would make a good board member, and anyt
 hing else you'd like us to know about you. Persons applying for the Tr
 easurer's position should also include information on experience with 
 bookkeeping and/or accounting, and with overseeing the management and
