SUMMARY:St. George Rainway Mural Planning Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Dear Neighbours and Community Members,\nWorking with the M
 ount Pleasant Elementary School, we would like to encourage awareness 
 of our local natural history through painting a mural on the asphalt o
 f St. George Street between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue. Its design woul
 d acknowledge the creek that used to run along St. George Street, now 
 flowing underground in sewer pipes.\nMany of you have heard about this
  project. Here are a couple of updates:\n1) The creek’s headwaters (
 near St. George St and 13th Avenue) have recently been recognized with
  a new storytelling bench at Robson Park, thanks to the efforts of the
  Vancouver Society of Storytelling.\n2) Happily, we are one of three p
 rojects that have been selected by VIVA Vancouver for support this yea
 r. VIVA transforms street sections into enjoyable public spaces.\nWe i
 nvite you to a community design workshop for this street mural from 7:
 00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Mount Pleasant Elementary (in 
 the library).\nThis is a public meeting open to anyone curious about t
