DESCRIPTION:Garlic's easy to grow, can thrive in small spaces, and tas
 tes great homegrown! In this hands on Village Vancouver workshop with 
 Rhiannon Johnson in our collaborative permaculture garden, we'll cover
  different types of garlic, soil, planting, care, and what to expect. 
 You'll learn how to grow garlic in your garden or containers and take 
 home some garlic cloves to plant. We'll have the Aberthau Village Van
 couver community seed library there - pick up some free seeds for your
  garden, swap or donate seeds. \r\n\r\nBy Donation: Sliding scale $0 
 - $12.50 suggested. Free for Seniors (50 and over).\r\nRegister here

 r\nOrganized and led by seniors, VV ElderGreens brings seniors, youth 
 and others together to share food and gardening skills and wisdom thro
 ugh workshops and other activities. All ages welcome; please contact u

 f Village Vancouver's Building Community Food Security and Resilience 
 Project. This project is made possible by the BC Ministry of Agricult

 lture.\r\n\r\n\r\nABERTHAU GARDEN PROJECT Located behind the Mansion, 
 just off of NW Marine Dr, and hosted by Village Vancouver, the garden 
 includes VV’s Demonstration Permaculture Garden, the WPG Preschool G
 arden and art/garden projects by artists-in-residence LocoMotoArt: Lau
 ra Lee Coles and Rob Scharein. Emphasizing permaculture design element
 s, including a small hugelkultur, an herb spiral, planting pollinator 
 attractants, and saving open pollinated seeds, the garden offers fun, 
 inclusive social, educational, culinary and cultural activities for co
 mmunity members. Enjoy free or low-cost weekday evening cooking, ferme
 nting and preserving demonstrations, gardening workshops, native edibl
 es walks and the seed savers club.\r\nIn the garden, newer gardeners g
 arden collaboratively alongside more experienced gardeners at our Satu
 rday work parties, providing a learning experience for everyone. For m
