SUMMARY:Soil Cultivation and Seasonal Management
DESCRIPTION:Class 4: \nSoil cultivation is the quintessential farming
activity.  It may also be responsible for the downfall of many a civ
ilization - including our own.  Cultivation is undoubtedly a powerful
management strategy but can easily lead to trouble when trying to add
ress the economics of farming.  So how do we use this tool to improve
soil quality instead of promoting erosion, damaging soil structure an
d causing compaction?\nBut soil cultivation isn’t the only way we in
teract with the soil and our interactions change throughout the season
.  Timing is everything and we’ll take a look at some of the soil i
nteractions that occur throughout the growing season - both positive a
 nd negative!\n Date: 1pm-4pm Saturday March 3rd, 2012\nLocation: UB
 C Farm 6182 South Campus Road, Vancouver BC\nCost: $20 (+1.49 regist
ration fee) or register for all four classes and save $10.\nRegistrati
on: registration is limited to 20 people. For more details about what
