DESCRIPTION:Explore the cultural and economic causes of the\nvarious G
 lobal Crises. We investigate key underlying\nwestern values, beliefs a
 nd institutions, and the blocks\nto social change. Is the fundamental 
 root cause of our\nglobal crises over‐population, personal/spiritual
 ,\npolitical, lack of efficiency in our systems, or\ninstitutional –
  the growth economy? This exploration\nleads to understanding the poss
 ibilities for a positive\nfuture.\nKathryn Cholette, MA has been an ac
 tivist for 25 years\nfocusing on social justice, bioregionalism and gr
 een\ncities. In the early 1990s she coordinated the Tin Wis\nCoalition
  of First Nations, unions and environmental\ngroups. She is a Left‐G
 reen served as federal leader of\nthe Green Party of Canada from 1988�
 ��1990. Currently\nworking with Village Vancouver to promote the\nTran
 sition Movement, she serves on the board of the\nNew City Institute.\n
