 he Fraser River Park\nThe many tidal salty islands and diked fertile r
 iver-flats all along the North Arm of the Fraser River were once Vanco
 uver's Food Basket. Now they are now just parking lots and cement plan
 ts. As Vancouver completes the River Side Greenway from West Southland
 s to Boundary Road, there are opportunities to rediscover our hidden f
 armland from the past 130 years from under the industrial rubble of th
 e present.\nThis tour of a Riverside Greenway with a history of great 
 Food Gardens is an opportunity not to be missed! This fertile river la
 nd is just waiting now for our gardening shovels to turn it over and g
 row good things once again.\nOur children the \"Urban Gardeners of the

 d local historian.\nTerry is a retired fisherman who grew up on the No
 rth Arm. He is a community historian, a naturalist, an activist and a 
 salmon person. He has a never ending love o the North Arm of the Frase
 r River and has worked hard over the years to save the natural environ
 ment of the Fraser River Estuary and beaches around Vancouver.\nRegist
