SUMMARY:Rising to the challenge: Advanced bread baking at home
DESCRIPTION:Flour up your hands and get ready to rise into the world o
 f bread. Artisan baker Florin Moldovan will describe the science behi
 nd the perfect loaf, the grains that form it and some of the cultural 
 lore of baking bread. \nThis advanced bread baking workshop is design
 ed for home bakers who are aiming to further improve their baking skil
 ls and their home-baked loaves. Participants are encouraged to bring t
 o the workshop one of their own bread creations. We will sample, criti
 que and tweak your favourite loaf. Attendance at a beginner bread baki
 ng workshop with Florin is not a prerequisite!\n\nPresenter Bio: Flori
 n is an artisan baker who has been baking bread in the Kitsilano neigh
 bourhood for the past seven years. While he has given up professional 
 baking, he still stays involved by teaching artisan baking workshops a
 nd writing on his Baking Stories blog. Florin believes strongly in org
 anic, sustainable and naturally leavened baking.\n\nWhat to bring: A l
 arge plastic or stainless steel mixing bowl (and we mean “Large”) 
 for your dough, which you will take home (please feel free to bring ad
 ditional large bowls if you can share them)! Please also bring a noteb
 ook and pen.\nGrowing Season Workshops:This event is part of the UBC F
