SUMMARY:*Protecting our Sacred Waters Event
DESCRIPTION:There are two parts to the “Protecting our Sacred Waters
 ” event. The first is a day long symposium for young adults (16-22 y
 rs.) The second is an evening event, open to everyone. Both will featu
 re respectful conversations about natural water systems -- watersheds,
  groundwater, rivers, wetlands and oceans -- the effects of oil pipeli
 nes and tankers, and how these are intertwined with social justice, ou
 r eco-systems and our economy.  To assure accessibility, registration 
 for both events is by donation. Everyone is welcome, and contributions
  to support the “Sacred Waters” project will be gratefully receive
 d.  Guest speakers and presenters include:  Rex Weyler - journalist, a
 uthor, co-founder of Greenpeace, Hollyhock Institute, and Tanker Free 
 BC Aline LaFlamme and Daughters of the drum - Dene leader, past Board 
 member and present Advisory Council member of the InterSpiritual Centr
 e of Vancouver Society Chief Phil Lane Jr. M.Ed, M.P.A. - co-founder a
 nd international coordinator of the Four Worlds family of organization
