SUMMARY:Premier Screening of the Greenhorns
DESCRIPTION:\nWhat happens when you follow young farmers around for 3
years? A film that not only inspires but facilitates action!Join us in
the Lower Mainland premier screening of The Greenhorns, whose mission
is to recruit, promote, and support young (and not so young) farmers.
The Greenhorns organization was founded in Berkeley in 2007 by Severin
e von Tscharner Fleming. Recently graduated and fresh from several sea
sons of apprenticeship adventures, Severine began filming young farmer
s with friends from “\"King Corn\" and fellow documentarians. A rota
ting team of soil enthusiasts, filmmakers, tech ninjas, artists, graph
ic designers, cartographers, and hustling interns took shape. In 2008-
09 Greenhorns were based on leased land in New York's Hudson Valley (g
rowing/raising organic veggies and herbs + flowers, Muscovy ducks, chi
ckens, rabbits and Tamworth pigs)Here's a link to the trailer: http://
