DESCRIPTION:Thanks in part to the financial turmoil of the last few ye
 ars and the issues raised by the Occupy movement, increasing numbers o
 f people are becoming aware that our current monetary system is not on
 ly broken, but systematically flawed. But what can be done about it?\n
 Michael Linton has been been aware of the root problems with conventio
 nal money and has been thinking about, designing and implementing prac
 tical solutions for the past 30 years, starting with the famous LETSys
 tem of mutual credit which has spread to thousands of locations around
  the world after first being launched in BC's Comox Valley in 1982. Mi
 chael has since gone on to refine his concept of Open Money - which st
 resses the role of money as information - and to design new community 
 currency systems with the potential for significant economic repattern
 ing in favour of people, their communities and their environment. In t
 he process, he has become one of the world's leading experts on money 
 and alternative currency systems.\nWe hope you'll come by, learn to se
 e and understand the money we all take for granted in a very different
  light, and learn about movements afoot in Vancouver to implement prac
 tical new means of exchange that serve their communities.\nDoors at 8p
