DESCRIPTION:In this Village Vancouver ElderGreens and Aberthau Garden 
 Project workshop with Alyssa Kohlman, you'll learn how to culture your
  own fermented tonic milk kefir (a sour yogurt-like beverage), followe
 d by water kefir (a home-made fruit \"soda pop\"). You'll get to sampl
 e finished product, and receive printed instructions for both milk and
  water kefir on how to make them at home.\n\nWe'll have a seed library
  present - you can get some free seeds for your garden or swap or dona
 te some seeds.\n\n$0-10 suggested donation, plus $5 fee for samples. F

 \nABERTHAU GARDEN PROJECT Located behind the Mansion, off of NW Marine
  Dr, & hosted by Village Vancouver, the garden includes VV’s Demonst
 ration Permaculture Garden, the WPG Preschool Garden and art/garden pr
 ojects by artists-in-residence LocoMotoArt: Laura Lee Coles and Rob Sc
 harein. Emphasizing permaculture design elements, including a small hu
 gelkultur, an herb spiral, planting pollinator attractants, and saving
  open pollinated seeds, the garden offers fun, inclusive social, educa
 tional, culinary and cultural activities for community members. Enjoy 
 free/low-cost Wednesday evening cooking, fermenting & preserving demon
 strations, inc. sauerkraut, kefir,and tastes of Korea and India, garde
 ning workshops like early summer gardening, native edibles walks and t
 he seed savers club. In the garden, newer gardeners garden collaborati
 vely alongside more experienced gardeners at our Saturday work parties
