DESCRIPTION:Learn to make traditional, fermented sauerkraut in this Vi
 llage Vancouver ElderGreens workshop w/Alyssa Kohlman. Fermented veget
 ables have many health benefits, including live enzymes, readily avail
 able vitamins and minerals, and probiotics -and sauerkraut/other ferme
 nted vegetables are suitable for all (vegetarian, vegan, Paleo, gluten
  free). Bring a wide-mouth 500ml mason jar, cutting board, large knife
 , and large bowl (optional). Participants will go home w/a jar of cust
 omized sauerkraut to ferment @home.\n\n Adults/families w/children 10 
 years+ are welcome - minors must be accompanied by a caregiver. We'll 
 have a Seed Library present - you can get some free seeds for your gar
 den or swap or donate some .\n\n By donation ($0-10), +$7 materials fe

 hers together to share food & gardening skills and wisdom through work
 shops and other activities. All ages welcome, please contact us if you

 ed behind the Mansion, off of NW Marine Dr, & hosted by Village Vancou
 ver, the garden includes VV’s Demonstration Permaculture Garden, the
  WPG Preschool Garden and art/garden projects by artists-in-residence 
 LocoMotoArt: Laura Lee Coles and Rob Scharein.Emphasizing permaculture
  design elements, including a small hugelkultur, an herb spiral, plant
 ing pollinator attractants, and saving open pollinated seeds, the gard
 en offers fun, inclusive social, educational, culinary and cultural ac
 tivities for community members. Enjoy free/low-cost Wednesday evening 
 cooking, fermenting & preserving demonstrations, inc. sauerkraut, kefi
 r,and tastes of Korea and India, gardening workshops like early summer
  gardening, native edibles walks and the seed savers club.\nIn the gar
 den, newer gardeners garden collaboratively alongside more experienced
  gardeners at our Saturday work parties, providing a learning experien
