SUMMARY:*Kits Village Drop-in \"Spaghetti\" Night near 8th and Balsam
DESCRIPTION:Share a meal with neighbours, prepared by a neighbour. Las
 t year, almost 200 people participated in over a dozen spaghetti night
 s and at the community-wide celebration.\nOur 3rd DISN is on September
  15. Open to all, this drop-in hosted by Claudia and Mark is aimed at
  neighbours living within 2-3 blocks of 8th and Balsam, with much of t
 he food sourced fresh and locally - a bean stew with veggies from the 
 farmers market, bread, salad  - and vegetarian.\nThere's room for 20 
 people. (16 now confirmed - room for 4 more.)\nThe 3rd in a series o
 f 12 plus neighbourhood Drop-in \"Spaghetti\" Nights hosted by differe
 nt Kits Villagers and other VVers around Kits and the Westside over th
 e next few months, followed by a community-wide celebration on Novembe
 r 7th. Hosts will provide the meal and track where the ingredients com
 e from, and we'll collate how local our eating habits are and how spag
 hetti night are helping connect neighbours at the community gathering.
 \nMuch of the food will be grown and sourced locally, including from t
 he Kits Village Collaborative Garden and the Thursday Westside Communi
 ty Food Market. Hosts who want to \"grow their own DISN dinner\" can o
 btain free seeds from the KV Seed library, and then can recycle any pl
 astic containers at the monthly Kits Village Plastic Recycling Depots,
  and compost the food scraps at the KV garden or take them to one of o
 ur weekly food scrap drops spots.\nBy the way, they’re called Drop-i
 n “Spaghetti” nights, because many of the ones we've held in the p
 ast have involved serving spaghetti, but they can really involve any f
 oods - for instance, Drop-in Rutabaga Night.\nIf you live on the Wests
