 tro Van municipalities need to find a new home for 250,000 tonnes of o
 rganic waste in the next few years. Meanwhile, growing numbers of urba
 n, near-urban and rural food producers are looking for supplies of aff
 ordable, uncontaminated, quality compost. Rising fuel costs will rewar
 d close-to-home solutions, but composting is challenged by odour and p
 est problems. Who has the best solution for economically growing high-
 quality soil from food scraps close to sources and end users?\nKeynote
  speaker Dr. Sally Brown, a soil scientist and organic residual specia
 list from the University of Washington, will speak followed by ten pre
 senters with five-minute explanations of what they offer. Watch for a
