SUMMARY:*From Here to There (Part Two): Food, Energy and Transitioning
  to Resilient Communities
DESCRIPTION:Please RESERVE YOUR SPOT on  Eventbrite:  http://fromher
etothere2.eventbrite.com/\n\n\n\nWhat is the future of food in Vancou
ver, especially as cheap energy sources peak and climate change intens
ifies? In partnership with the Vancouver Food Policy Council and Vill
age Vancouver Transition Society, MOV is pleased to host an interacti
ve public dialogue and presentations from local innovators, authors, a
nd practitioners, that encourages people to think about the local ci
rcumstances and possibilities for change, here in Vancouver.\nOutcomes
and key learnings from the first community visioning event held at MO
V, on December 7, 2011, hosted in order to stimulate and support the d
evelopment of a Vancouver Food Energy Descent Action Plan (FED-AP). Fo
llowing this, a panel discussion addressing some key elements that mu
st be addressed in order to achieve Community Food Resiliency, will be
convened.\nJoin us as we convene this critical dialogue across dispar
ate sectors, neighborhoods, and areas of practice, as we set out to co
llaboratively understand, and articulate a vision for a “powered-dow
n, resilient, re-localized future”, as well as outline practical ste
ps and actions for getting there.\nKey community organizations involve
d in ongoing community food projects and a cross-sector of interested
individuals will come together to co-create this vision and share thei
r knowledge, resources and inspiration to further initiatives and focu
s on the strategies of the FED-AP.\nTargeted at change and policy make
rs, related organizations, students, and all individuals interested in
food activism and community building.\nSpeakers will include Herb Bar
bolet, Lena Soots, Dawn Morrison, Hannah Whitman, Ross Moster and Bren
t Mansfield.\nThe evening is by donation, with proceeds supporting MOV
and future public dialogues.\nRegistration/Doors at 5:30PM\nPresentat
ions and Dialogue begin at 6:00PM\nRefreshments and mingling to follow
