SUMMARY:*From Here to There - Brown Bag Resiliency Lunches
DESCRIPTION:The Vancouver Food Policy Council & Village Vancouver Tran
sition Town Initiative, in partnership with the Museum of Vancouver, a
re hosting a series of brown bag luncheon discussions and brainstormin
g sessions at the Museum of Vancouver [MOV].\nThese meetings bring tog
ether several key Civil Society groups who are working towards similar
goals: the creation of a just, sustainable and resilient Greater Vanc
ouver bioregion for now and in the future. Our focus is on the effects
of a changing climate, peaking resources (fossil fuels, phosphorous a
nd arable land), and economic instability on the security of our food.
Our vision is to put mechanisms in place to ensure that security for
the time period from now to 2040 and beyond.\nWe've received exciting
ideas and input from past public dialogue sessions - including previou
s events at the MOV and Langara College and the SFU Semester in Dialog
ue - and previous Brown Bags, and want to hear from additional groups
at this point. We invite you to brainstorm how we can build on these v
aluable contributions toward concrete and feasible next steps in 2013
and beyond, including our next public event at MOV in the Fall.\nPrevi
 ous dates:\nThursday, March 14th 1-3 pm\nThursday April 25th 1-3pm\nT
 hursday, May 9th 1-3 pm\nThursday May 30th 1-3 pm\n \nPlease let us k
now if you or your organization would be interested in attending a fut
ure BB.\n[By brown bag, we ask that you please bring your own meal or
snack.]\nWe're taking a summer break. Monthly Brown Bags will resume i
n September, dates TBA.\n\nFor more information visit http://villageva
