SUMMARY:*From Here to There - Brown Bag Resiliency Lunches
DESCRIPTION:The Vancouver Food Policy Council & Village Vancouver Tran
sition Town Initiative are hosting a series of brown bag luncheon disc
ussions and brainstorming sessions  (usually, but not always at the
Museum of Vancouver) as part of our FED-AP Community Food Resiliency
Project.\nThese meetings bring together several key Civil Society grou
ps who are working towards similar goals: the creation of a just, sust
ainable, resilient and regenerative Greater Vancouver bioregion for no
w and in the future. Our focus is on the effects of a changing climate
, peaking resources (eg. fossil fuels, phosphorous and arable land), a
nd economic instability on the security of our food. Our vision is to
put mechanisms in place to ensure that security for the time period fr
om now to 2040 and beyond.\nWe've received exciting ideas and input fr
om past public dialogue sessions - including several From Here to Ther
e public events at Museum of Vancouver, a Food Systems Dialogue at L
angara College,  the SFU FED-AP Semester in Dialogue - and from pre
vious Brown Bags, and want to hear from additional groups at this poin
 t. We invite you to brainstorm how we can build on these valuable cont
ributions toward concrete and feasible next steps in 2014 and beyond,
including our next events this Spring.\nIf you or your organization wo
uld be interested in attending a future BB, please send us some inform
ation about the work that you're engaged in and why our work is of int
erest to you.\n[By brown bag, we ask that you please bring your own me
al or snack.]\nTentative date - TBC.\n\n\nFor more information visit h
