SUMMARY:*From Here to There - Brown Bag Resiliency Lunches
DESCRIPTION:The Vancouver Food Policy Council & Village Vancouver Tran
sition Town Initiative, in partnership with the Museum of Vancouver, a
re hosting a series of brown bag luncheon discussions and brainstormin
g sessions at the Museum of Vancouver [MOV] as part of our FED-AP Comm
unity Food Resiliency Project.\nThese meetings bring together several
key Civil Society groups who are working towards similar goals: the cr
eation of a just, sustainable, resilient and regenerative Greater Vanc
ouver bioregion for now and in the future. Our focus is on the effects
of a changing climate, peaking resources (eg. fossil fuels, phosphoro
us and arable land), and economic instability on the security of our f
ood. Our vision is to put mechanisms in place to ensure that security
for the time period from now to 2040 and beyond.\nWe've received excit
ing ideas and input from past public dialogue sessions - including sev
eral From Here to There public events at MOV, a Food Systems Dialogue
at Langara College,  the SFU FED-AP Semester in Dialogue - and fro
m previous Brown Bags, and want to hear from additional groups at thi
s point. We invite you to brainstorm how we can build on these valuabl
e contributions toward concrete and feasible next steps in 2014 and be
yond, including our next events this Spring.\nIf you or your organizat
ion would be interested in attending a future BB, please send us some
information about the work that you're engaged in and why our work is
of interest to you.\n[By brown bag, we ask that you please bring your
own meal or snack.]\nTentative date - TBC.\n\n\nFor more information v
