DESCRIPTION:Village Vancouver ElderGreens presents a workshop with Rhi
 annon Johnson at Aberthau Garden. Mid to late spring and early summer 
 are busy times in the garden, and there are a lot of plants you can se
 ed directly. Learn what to plant now and how to plant properly on your
  balcony, in your yard, or in your community garden plot. You'll gain 
 hands on experience and come away with the knowledge to plant, grow, a
 nd harvest vegetables such as peas, beans, greens, beets, the onion fa
 mily, root veggies, herbs, tomatoes, and carrots starting now! \n\nWe'
 ll have the Pt. Grey Village Community Seed Library present and you'll
  be able to take, swap or donate seeds.\n\nRain or shine. $0-10 sugges
 ted donation. Free for Seniors (50 and over) and children under 10.Reg

 uth and others together to share food & gardening skills and wisdom th
 rough workshops and other activities, including helping to organize th
 e Open House. All ages welcome, please contact us if you're interested
  in getting involved.\n\nThis event is part of Village Vancouver's Bui
 lding Community Food Security and Resilience Project. This project is 
 made possible by the BC Ministry of Agriculture's Grow Local program.

  PROJECT Located behind the Mansion, off of NW Marine Dr, & hosted by 
 Village Vancouver, the garden includes VV’s Demonstration Permacultu
 re Garden, the WPG Preschool Garden and art/garden projects by artists
 -in-residence LocoMotoArt: Laura Lee Coles and Rob Scharein. Emphasizi
 ng permaculture design elements, including a small hugelkultur, an her
 b spiral, planting pollinator attractants, and saving open pollinated 
 seeds, the garden offers fun, inclusive social, educational, culinary 
 and cultural activities for community members. Enjoy free/low-cost Wed
 nesday evening cooking, fermenting & preserving demonstrations, inc. s
 auerkraut, kefir,and tastes of Korea and India, gardening workshops li
 ke early summer gardening, native edibles walks and the seed savers cl
 ub.\nIn the garden, newer gardeners garden collaboratively alongside m
 ore experienced gardeners at our Saturday work parties, providing a le
