DESCRIPTION:In this Village Vancouver ElderGreens workshop with Alyssa
  Kohlman from Fermentoring, we'll make curtido - a traditional El Salv
 adorean lightly fermented cabbage, onion and carrot salad seasoned wit
 h oregano and hot pepper. Curtido is a traditional topping for pupusas
  (cheese-stuffed tortillas) and also great with fish, black beans, bur
 ritos or quesadillas. Participants will learn the basics of lacto-ferm
 enting vegetables and go home with a jar of curtido to finish fermenti
 ng at home. Please bring a wide-mouth 500ml mason jar, cutting board, 
 large knife, and large bowl if you're able to, and wear clothes you do
 n't mind preparing food in.Adults and families with children 10 years 
 and older are welcome. All minors must be accompanied by a caregiver. 
 We'll have a Community Seed Library present - you can get some free se
 eds for your garden or swap or donate some seeds. By donation ($0 - $1
 0), plus a $7 materials fee. Free for Seniors (50 and over).\nRegister
