SUMMARY:Crop Succession planning: The art of increasing your harvest p
 eriod
DESCRIPTION:Succession planting—following one crop with another—is
an important method for maximizing a garden's yield. With one of the
shortest growing season in BC, gardeners and farmers in the Vancouver
region can take advantage of succession planning to help maximize thei
r harvest. Creating a detailed succession plan eliminates the guesswor
k of what and when to plant later on in the season.\nDuring this works
hop, we will overview the advantages of succession planning and demons
trate the benefit of well-planned crops. We will look at season extens
ion structures and techniques, and we will spend some time focusing on
the ideal crops for our region. This workshop is well suited for back
yard gardeners as well as small-scale farmers.\nDate: Thursday, Februa
ry 21, 6-8pm Location: UBC Farm Centre\n6182 South Campus Rd\nVancouve
 r BC\nCost: $20 (+ $1.49 registration fee)\n\nFor more information vis
