SUMMARY:*Creating Native Bee Houses
DESCRIPTION:In this Village Vancouver ElderGreens workshop, Hives for 
 Humanity will lead us in creating Houses for Native Bees, including Ma
 son Bees, as part of our continuing efforts to support pollinator well
 -being. We’ll talk about Mason Bee and Wild Bee life cycles, example
 s of DIY Mason Bee habitat, and the importance of forage/planting for 
 pollinators. We'll also touch on Honeybees and taste some neighbourhoo
 d honey.\nParticipants will hand roll tubes for the native bee houses,
 which consist mainly of upcycled wood cut to assemble triangle shaped 
 houses. Discussion on where to hang houses, what plants to plant nearb
 y and what signs to look for, as well as after care instructions, will
  follow, and everyone who wants to will be able to take a bee house ho
 me with them! We'll have the community seed library present - you can 
 get some free seeds for your garden, swap or donate seeds.\nAdults/fam
 ilies w/children 10 yrs+ are welcome - minors must be accompanied by a
  caregiver.\nCost: $0-12.50 suggested donation. Free for Seniors (50 a

 , an herb spiral, planting pollinator attractants, and saving open pol
 linated seeds, the garden offers fun, inclusive social, educational, c
 ulinary and cultural activities for community members. Enjoy free/low-
 cost Wednesday evening cooking, fermenting & preserving demonstrations
 , inc. sauerkraut, kefir, gardening workshops like early summer garden
 ing, native edibles walks and the seed savers club.\nIn the garden, ne
 wer gardeners garden collaboratively alongside more experienced garden
 ers at our Saturday work parties, providing a learning experience for
