DESCRIPTION:In this joint VV Eldergreens-WENFN West End Urban Garden C
 lub workshop, Hives for Humanity will lead us in creating Houses for N
 ative Bees, including Mason Bees, as part of our continuing efforts to
  support pollinator well-being in the West End.\n\nYou'll learn about 
 the importance of native bees, native bee plant relationships, native 
 bee life cycles, and honeybees vs. native bees. We'll decorate the nat
 ive bee houses, which consist mainly of upcycled wood cut to assemble 
 triangle shaped houses. Participants will hand roll tubes for the hous
 es, and we may also create some houses out of pop bottles. Discussion 
 on where to hang houses, what plants to plant nearby and what signs to
  look for, as well as after care instructions, will follow, and everyo
 ne who wants to will be able to take a bee house home with them!\n\nPi
 ck up a 2018-19 West End Urban Garden Calendar, and some free seeds fo
 r your garden from the West End community seed library. Swapping and s
 eed donations welcome, and we're able to make seed donations to West E
 nd community and school gardens (contact us1st at seedsaving@villageva
 ncouver.ca). \n\nCost: $10. FREE for Seniors (50 and over). 50% disc
