DESCRIPTION:\n \nActivate your mind at the 12th annual World Communit
 y Film Festival at Langara College February 15-17. The festival screen
 s over 40 social justice and environmental documentaries set around th
 e world and across the street.\nVillage Vancouver is pleased to sponso
 r part of the growth and sustainability program at this year’s festi
 val. Showing on Sunday at noon is Growthbusters: Hooked on Growth, whi
 ch examines the cultural barriers that prevent us from acting rational
 ly about environmental issues, followed by In Transition 2.0, an inspi
 rational immersion in the Transition movement. Village is also sponsor
 ing the Saturday 2:30 pm screening of Shift Change, which tells the li
 ttle known stories of employee-owned businesses that compete successfu
 lly in today’s economy.\nThe festival also has an extensive program 
 of food and farming films, with VV as a co-sponsor, while the superb o
 pening night double bill features the Vancouver premieres of two inspi
 ring films about activism: Maestra and Bidder 70. The Saturday night s
 creening is the powerful and poignant Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth.\nT
 he Saturday and Sunday daytime program includes films on food and farm
 ing, indigenous issues, Black history, the status of women, and the co
