The \"Salmon Are Sacred\" group, headed by Alexandra Morton is paddlin g down the Fraser River from Hope. It will be joined by others and wil l finish in Vancouver on October 24th & 25th\nhttp://www.salmonaresacr ed.org/paddle-wild-salmon\n\nOn Sunday October 24th at Jericho Beach 1 2:00 PM - 4:00\na Mass Gathering and Celebration takes place to welcom e the Paddle for Wild Salmon. We expect many to join u s with their good spirit, their costumes and props and their family an d friends as we gather for entertainment and speeches and to watch the local First Nations welcome the flotilla of watercraft at Jericho Bea ch Waterfront, on the Westside of Vancouver BC, off of Point Grey Road . The watercraft will arrive at approximately 2:00 PM\n\nIn the light of the stellar return of the sockeye to the Fraser River this year, it is even more important to call attention to the connection between th e greatest Salmon River in the world, the City of Vancouver and the wi ld salmon on the BC coast who use this river as a highway to their spa wning grounds.
