 !\n \nIt’s been very exciting to see the flood of new members to ou
 r Village Vancouver Beekeeping site! It would be great to meet everyon
 e and so I am organizing a beekeepers and other bee enthusiasts get-to
 gether on Saturday May 7th at 1pm. Steve and I will host this at our h
 ome (near Main and 19th). Please RSVP to me: anna@villagevancouver.ca 
 as soon as possible and I will provide you with the address. During th
 is get-together I would be happy to do a short information session on 
 ‘introduction into beekeeping’, so if you are interested in this p
 lease let me know.\nAlso, as I have mentioned before I encourage you t
 o become part of a neighbourhood group where you can meet in person wi
 th other beekeepers regularly (or with people interested in beekeeping
 ). Steve and I are part of a group of about 10 beekeepers that was cre
 ated last spring. We had a couple of get-togethers last year and it wa
 s invaluable (and fun!) to learn from each others’ experiences. So f
 ar I have responses from people who would like to start a group in the
  Commercial Drive area, Dunbar and North Vancouver. I suggest creating
  groups based on where you live - having people that live near by who 
 can lend a hand (or hive box if your bees swarm!) can be very helpful.
  I would be more than happy to coordinate groups. If interested you ca
 n email me at anna@villagevancouver.ca and tell me which neighbourhood
  you live in (or feel free to start a discussion on our beekeeping sit
 e).\n \nOn our site there has been a discussion about creating a Beek
 eeping Association in Vancouver (there is presently one going strong i
 n Richmond, Brian Campbell is the president). I purpose that the get-t
 ogether on May 7th could be part of this discussion.\n \nI look forwa
 rd to seeing you again and meeting new members of our beekeeping site!
