SUMMARY:A History of Plant-Based Medicine Lecture
DESCRIPTION:November's education theme is “Biodiversity and Healthâ€
ť. From prehistoric times, through the Greek Empire, into the Middle A
ges and modern day, plants have played a vital role in the development

of humankind, both past and present. Following the lecture, Daniel wil
l lead interested participants on a brief walk to the Physic Garden, a
16th century medicinal herb garden that historically would have been
used for the education of physicians and apothecaries. Instructor (Bio

of 2005, he has been the editor (and often the author and/or photograp
her) of UBC Botanical Garden’s Botany Photo of the Day. Please Note
